Meet the Coalition
The Coalition to Preserve DSHEA - the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act - is a non-profit organization funded through donations from suppliers of dietary supplement products and services. Building upon the ongoing efforts by industry trade associations, the Coalition's mission is to protect DSHEA to ensure continued access to safe, effective and affordable dietary supplements.
While DSHEA passed with overwhelming Congressional support in 1994, only half of elected officials currently serving in the House and Senate were in office at the time of the law's passage. The Coalition serves as a continuing resource to federal lawmakers and their staff, as well as the media, seeking information regarding the origin, effectiveness and benefits of DSHEA, by providing personal visits and analysis of existing and future legislation. The Coalition also reaches out to dietary supplement retailers and consumers across the United States to inform them about their health choices and the role they play in ensuring access to the supplements that improve their health.
The Coalition consists of the following elected officers and members:
Chief Executive Officer: David Seckman, Natural Products Association
